To get rid of acne bumps, most people who have acne pimples or zits have tried to squeeze the zits with the thought of cleaning out the blemishes. The difficulty with this approach is twofold. First, there will be no material that is ready to be expelled using such a method. Second, the bacteria, infection, oil and other material that is causing the break out may actually be driven deeper under the surface of the skin thus causing further pain, potential for scarring and damage to the underlying tissue. It is not always easy to resist the temptation to fuss with breakouts, but it is far better to use other means of treatment.

Attacking the red bumps in order to get rid of acne is definitely not something that should be done by a manual procedure against the lesions. These lesions are not ready to be cleaned out for healing purposes. Instead, treatment should focus on cleaning up the area, keeping potentially dangerous germs away from the face or other infected skin, and providing assistance to the germ fighters under the skin through antibiotics. So, keep the hands away from the face and gently continue to cleanse the skin of potentially dangerous and disease causing germs.
